the real reason to build a brand
A lot of times we hear the phrase "personal branding" and feel overwhelmed or intimidated. Or we don’t really get what, exactly, it means. Or how to do it. Or it feels like something other people should do… We wonder why anyone would care about OUR personal brand, what would we say anyway… Maybe we'll get to it eventually.
But that's overlooking what’s really in it for OURSELVES.
That feeling when the sky is the limit...
Obviously, you create a lot of opportunities as you become more visible and make more connections. And of course, others benefit from hearing what you have to say.
But I think – because my own experience has been – that a lot of the magic actually happens *behind the scenes* Because in order to figure out how you want to put yourself out there, you need to get some clarity on who “yourself” is. (Even if what you’re putting out there, at least at first, is showing your work as you figure it out.)
“That clarity is GOLD… That feeling, that excitement, that’s magic. It’s MAGNETIC.”
And that clarity is GOLD. Because it gets you excited again about what you’re doing, the kind of people you want to work with, and what you have to offer them. And THAT feeling, that excitement, THAT’s the magic. It’s MAGNETIC.
That’s the real power of working on your brand. It’s not a buzzword.
This week was the start of the Female Founders Rise personal branding challenge and already I’m so energised by being a part of it. For me, this challenge has come at exactly the right time. I’ve been refining my business and the way I work, and I’m ready to talk about it more. But even though helping people talk about their businesses IS my work, it can be tricky doing it all on your own, especially when you’re just getting started or making a change.
Having the support and energy of this incredible group is so motivating and encouraging. Kudos (and so much gratitude) to the FFR team for attracting such vibrant women — they inspire me to show up and engage and keep going…and that’s priceless.
So excited for all that’s to come.
